Hello. I’m Simon, and this is my personal creative project. Thank you for taking a look!
Read on below, and I will lay out for you the vision behind this website, and the plans in store for it.
I hail from Devon, England, and have lived variously in Ireland, Spain and the USA. Since I was a child I always saw myself as a poet, a writer, a composer. . . and now here I am, in my thirties, launching this website in November 2016, with a career instead in science, alternative medicine, hands-on healing and teaching. What happened?
I became aware of millions of people with a bioaccumulation of heavy metal toxicity in their bodies, and stacks of unnecessary associated chronic diseases, and I wanted to do something about it: yep, I wanted to help the world. . . and I was blessed to meet some remarkable people, along the way, with whom I have developed some remarkable healing knowledge and tools. (If you wish, you can read more about my “other self” at www.living-systems.org).
Yet in spite of this, my original and primary passion has always been poetry, music and other creative endeavours, and so finally I decided to launch this as my second career. Or was it always, in fact, my first? Judge for yourself! And dive in to share comments on my music and musings.
In time, my dream, and aim, is to publish albums of music – and books of poetry – and other creative work.
In the meantime, this is my sandbox, and, like an excitable kid kicking sand all over the place, I intend to share a lot of creativity here freely, for your enjoyment (or otherwise!), until such time that I’m ready to release any albums or books, at which point I aim to announce their release at this website.
This project involves no commercial aspect until I have something ready to publish.
Therefore, its success depends entirely upon you.
If you enjoy my work, all I ask is for you to share this website with your friends, and to join the conversation with comments at this site.
In addition to the creativity itself, my only other desire at this stage in my “second” career is to connect, and to make new friends through what I am doing, and perhaps, in the process, I will discover and enjoy your perspectives and/or work too!
In this way, we accomplish one of the primary goals of art: to enrich each other’s lives with a play of perspectives and experiences.

THE RHAPSODY REALM
Each of my projects, in its own way, is a form of rhapsody.
Rhapsodize (verb): speak or write about someone or something with great delight and enthusiasm.
I love to rhapsodize: life is worthy of it, and invites it! And I see this as one of the most delectable aspects of the relationship between art and life. That’s why I have nicknamed this project my personal “rhapsody realm”.
As to the title itself, “Pass the Portal”, I will leave you to make of it what you will, and, by way of being deliberately mysterious, I will venture no comment. . . except to say that I did not invent the phrase, and that, when I happened upon it again recently in a book, its rich resonances stimulated a thought-train in my mind which coalesced, at last, into assembling this project very quickly, after a lifetime of waiting.
If you wish to write something, or contact me, the best way is through the public comment boxes on each page of this website – and I invite you to add your voice to the conversation! Alternatively, if you would rather send a private message to me, you can do so here.
